10 Things Stephen King Hates About You Has To Say About The New Stand
Earlier this week, we learned that a new version of Stephen King's The Stand is in preparation. Now, the king is open with his thoughts about his upcoming adaptation of the classic novel.
Here are the ten best things he had to say about it in Entertainment Weekly:
1. No one will be able to top Gary Sinise, who played Stu Redman in the original ABC miniseries. He was perfect. When he says: "You know nothing" for the soldiers who are putting in compulsory quarantine, it is considered entirely his contempt. My choice would be runner-up Jake Gyllenhaal.
2. I did not know anything about the remake until I read on the internet.
3. You absolutely can not do it as a two-hour movie. If it was a trilogy of films ... maybe.
4. Molly Ringwald, there will be this time Fran Goldsmith.
5. Rutger Hauer is a bit 'too old to play the Walkin' Dude, and this is a sin.
6. People who have seen Kubrick's The Shining aversion of the miniseries I wrote (and my amigo Mick Garris directed), even if they have seen. This has always annoyed me. But the karmic wheel turns! This time the people will probably say: "The miniseries was much better." BUT ...
7. ... Historically speaking, film studios blow the budget on things like that, so maybe it'll be fun to watch. The paste is certainly not for me, even if it's a trilogy, and if it's a lot of money, I might be able to buy a chicken dinner at Popeye. Great slaw!
8. Molly Ringwald will probably not play the Trashcan Man, either, but Billy Bob Thornton would be cool. Billy Bob is always fresh.
9. They need to write a lot of heavy-metal soundtrack.
10. MOON, that spells "probably will not see this any time soon." And when you do, you will not be directed by Woody Allen. Or Molly Ringwald.
Thoughts?
Simon Cowell will appear in a 30-second spot to promote her new X Factor talent show during the Super Bowl this weekend.
One spot that apparently costs $ 3,000,000!
Wowsa!
FOX really wants to ensure that this show is a success!
